Jivana Style's Royal Invitation
Samantha Alfred, founder of Jivana Style, was invited by the Master of The Household to attend a reception hosted by Her Majesty the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace on October 13th 2009. The reception, held in advance of the State Visit of The President of the Republic of India, included a hand picked guest list of the nations top 300 Asian business men and women, British Asian comedians, TV presenters and actors, of which Jivana Style's Samantha Alfred was one. Arriving in a Rolls Royce, the evening kicked off with Bollywood dance entertainment, followed by champagne and canapés, after the Queen and Duke received and welcome each of their guests individually. Samantha commented "It was a privilege to be invited to Buckingham Palace, and an honour to be presented to Her Majesty the Queen and to talk about my business. The Queen made me feel so at ease and so interested in what I had to say! It was such an amazing evening meeting so many interesting people from the UK's British Asian business and media world."
Jivana Style on BBC News
On Thursday 5th February 2009, Samantha Alfred and Jivana Style appeared on the national BBC News which was screened on the breakfast and lunchtime news and on the BBC London news! In the current climate of job losses, the report saw how Samantha turned her redundancy into an opportunity by setting up her own award winning greeting card & gift business Jivana Style. Samantha comments "We are thrilled that our story is news worthy, and it was a fabulous report! I certainly hope it inspires others facing a similar situation."
2008 Precious Awards - WINNER
....Let Success Shine....Jivana Style was nominated and won the award for Best Business at the prestigious 2008 Precious Awards. Keynote speaker Jennette Arnold, Chair of the London Assembly recognised the efforts of successful women of colour, echoed in letters of swiss replica watches support for the event and participants by Baroness Amos, David Cameron, Hazel Blears and Nick Clegg.

ASDA selects Jivana Style
ASDA has chosen Jivana Style to be the exclusivie supplier of Ethnic greeting cards and gifts for a selection of their ethnic focused stores around the country.
Sam Alfred commented "ASDA will be showcasing some of our best ranges on a specially designed unit. They will be selling our unique range of everyday Asian greeting cards, funky ceramic mugs, giftwrap and multi-packs of cards. The selection looks great on the unit and we are absolutely thrilled to be the sole supplier!"
The initial 10 stores are: WEMBLEY, COLINDALE, HOUNSLOW, PARK ROYAL NEW,
LEYTON, WALLINGTON, CLAPHAM JUNCTION, BECKTON, SOUTH GATE CIRCUS, OLD
KENT ROAD with the plan to roll out nationwide.

Q1 2008 News
It's been a while since I updated this page what with Christmas, Desi Valentines and Desi Mother's Day cards being published we have been quite busy! So, Jivana Style has been hitting the headlines yet again, and we have just found out that a story that ran in the Daily Express newspaper in March was picked up by the news agency Press Trust India and sent to loads of Indian media, the story was published in: The Hindu, The Financial Express, Yahoo India, Deccan Herald, Indian Express, and Zee News to name but a few!

On Friday 12th December 2007, the BBC2 programme Working Lunch featured Jivana Style. The report covered our journey into creating products for a unique niche market and our funky designs for British Asians. We thought the report was fab - tell us what you think!
HSBC Start-Up Stars 2007
Jivana Style fought off some serious competition for the HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards 2007; and after being nominated for the Regional finals, went on to become a winner in the London Regional heats.
On 22nd August, Samantha Alfred was presented with the London Regional Winners Award 2007 at the HSBC headquarters at Canary Wharf.

May 2007 NEWS!!!
What a month it has been! We had a huge amount of press interest inlcluding a feature in Eastern Eye newspaper; a live radio interview with Satnam Rana for the Midland's Masala BBC West Midlands Radio programme; interviews with Venus TV and MA TV - two Asian satellite channels; a glamourous photo-shoot and interview with the Asiana Magazine; apparently we were featured in the Leicester Metro - yet to be confrimed! National Mela - 17-19 November 2006
Yet another steaming success! How busy? Really busy! We didn't get a chance to go replica watches star spotting - however on the rare quiet moment a few celeb's did manage to make it through! Thank you all for supporting us, for your encouragement and returning again to buy.

Clinton Cards - Roll-out to stores nationwide
Jivana Style ran a successful test of it's unique Asian greeting cards with the UK's largest greeting card retailer Clinton Cards, in March 2006 and by September the cards were stocked in over 100 Clinton Card stores nationwide inlcluding its online shop. Although the Dragon's saw no potential in the business, Clinton Cards clearly understood the gap in the market for design-led Asian cards and chose to back Sam and her designs.
BBC's Dragons' Den
A BBC producer approached us to pitch for the Dragon's Den TV series, at the Business Start-Up Exhibition NEC, in June 2006. Jivana Style was selected from 4,000 applicants to proceed and after 4 weeks of rigourous interviews and form filling, we pitched the business to the fiery Dragons! 4 million viewers nationwide watched while Samantha Alfred braved the wrath of the Dragons - although they said no - we did it anyway!
